Career development: Crédit Agricole and Finaref map out career paths
Finaref and its parent company Crédit Agricole S.A are determined to “promote talent”. We are therefore working to encourage the career development and mobility of our staff.
"You wish to develop your career? Choose your path and good luck!" These words greet staff of Crédit Agricole S.A.’s Specialised Financial Services unit logging on to the “Career path” section of the company intranet. Since last June, they have been able to investigate different career paths with a few clicks of the mouse. They can also consult the descriptions of different positions and find out how to apply. Personnel from four areas of activity (customer relations, animation and business development, disputes, risks and commitments) are encouraged to further their career within the same area or to move to another part of the Crédit Agricole S.A. Group. “This career mobility incentive is part of the dynamic career management policy which has been adopted for the whole of the Credit Agricole S.A. Group,” stresses Marielle Loire, in charge of “job mobility” within Finaref. “The objective is threefold: to promote staff loyalty, to encourage the acquisition of new skills and to help staff devise a career plan for themselves." Many attractive, well-defined career paths are proposed. When a member of staff expresses an interest, he or she is encouraged first of all to discuss his or her desired career development with his or her line manager. "The line manager is the person best placed to evaluate the applicant’s level, experience and potential, and to assess his or her motivation for a given position,” explains Marielle Loire. “Then, with our support, the line manager will be able to advise the member of staff in question, define his or her career path more precisely, and if necessary, offer training." In 2005, 100 staff out of a total of 1,400 took advantage of the opportunities for internal mobility within Finaref.
