Finaref and Lille students in the national final of Euromanager Euromanager has been sponsored for the past four years by Crédit Agricole S.A. Group the official sponsor together with Pricewaterhouse Coopers and PPR. It is an international management and business strategy simulation contest. The 40,000 participants made up of company directors, managers and students from universities and business and engineering schools compete for the title of ’virtual manager of the year’. The competition, involving selling a range of products and trying to achieve the highest share price, is based on a sophisticated computer simulation. Didier Renard, Information Systems and Organisation Director at Finaref, led a team from EDHEC Lille / Centrale Lille. His team was one of the 8, out of a total of 174, to qualify for the Euromanager final held on 6 April 2006 at the Maison des Polytechniciens in Paris. As Didier Renard says, "Euromanager has built bridges between universities, management and engineering schools and businesses. It has been a great experience and we would like to build on this success. Opportunities have already been planned for students to meet Finaref managers so they can get to know the business better."
