E-commerce: a winning strategy
Finaref is the leading consumer finance company on the web, with 9.7 million unique visitors at the end of October 2006 (source: NetRatings). The company, which is already partnered with Fnac and La Redoute, France’s two largest e-commerce sites, recorded €600 million in new lending on the net in 2006. The Kangourou card has continued to grow its market share and now accounts for 40 per cent of purchases made on the La Redoute website. Finaref showed itself to be an e-commerce innovator with the April 2006 launch of an electronic signature system. Building on this drive, it recorded 1,600 electronically-signed contracts in 2006 and recruited 56,500 customers through the web. Following a six-month pilot scheme, the e-signature system was deployed generally in late 2006 and is set to be extended to include the online signature of preliminary loan agreements in 2007.
